Yesterday the Xbox Product Group published an up-to-date list of all backward compatible games for the XBOX 360, and I think you have to be pretty satisfied with the work they have done regarding this issue so far – even though lots of games are missing from the list. The original XBOX games has to be played through a (free) software emulator, and there will probably come newer versions of this emulator making more games compatible.
