Final Sound 600i
Audioprophile had a display on the Digital Home 2007 trade show in Stockholm, Sweden, filled with speakers from the dutch electrostatic speaker manufacturer Final Sound. On the picture you can see a Final Sound 600i, a wall mounted Final Sound 90i and a Final Sound S220 subwoofer.

This is not the top model from Final Sound as they have a model called 1000i which is supposed to be even better. The speakers requires an amplifier capable of delivering at least 2x75W (4 ohm) but they recommend 2x100W. The speaker weighs 21 kg (46 pounds) and they are 158 centimeters (5.2 feet). If I just convert the Swedish price into $, they get the price of $7500 – but I guess you can get them cheaper than that in the US.

Here’s the smaller model 90i – if I just convert the Swedish price of 9900 SEK into $ I get $1500.

Here’s the transformer that is required to create the electrostatic field (a couple of thousand volts). And how do they sound? They sound ridiculously good – amazingly detailed mid- and high tones, but $7500 is really much money…
