Google unveils online Powerpoint killer

John Battelle discussing with Eric Schmidt on stage of Web2.0Expo in San Francisco

As I’m sitting in the audience of Web2.0Expo in San Francisco listening to Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google, announcing a new product and I have my computer and WiFi I might as well write a short story about it. He hasn’t announched the name of the service yet, but their new presentation maker is adding up to complete Google’s Online Office portfolio that now features mail, spreadsheet, word processing and the new presentation maker.

Update: The name of the new product is Presently.

Update: During the keynote, which actually was more like an interview between Federated Media’s John Batelle and Eric, they just touched on the different topics (such as the Doubleclick acquisition, the new online presentation tool and some random stuff) – so I’m afraid that we’ll not get more information about the app at this point.
