iMac with Intel processor unveiled.

Apple iMac Intel Core Duo

The biggest thing unveiled at the ongoing keynote at Macworld 2006 in San Francisco has to be the new iMacs with Intel Core Duo processor. The new version of the iMac looks the exactly like the old one, which means that the newIntel based iMac also comes in a 17″ and a 20″ model – for the same prize as before.

The new Intel core Duo processor is based on two cores and each of them are faster than the iMac G5, which roughly makes it 2 to 3 times faster than the ‘old’ iMac G5. Neat. The 10.4.4 OS that Steve Jobs is running during the keynote is completely native on Intel processors.

The new model with Intel processor starts shipping today.
