News from Northern Star
Unless you are from Scandinavia you probably haven’t heard of the company Northern Star. It’s a Swedish high-end company producing quality flat screens and some accessories (a good example is the high-end HDMI cable called Äsping). I had a quick chat with Mathias Adolfsson, one of the founders of the company today on a Swedish trade show called Digital Home 2007.

Northern Star started up in a small apartment in Stockholm, Sweden over 6 years ago. They are expanding their business rapidly and right now they are starting up a new production facility located in Söderhamn in the north of Sweden. They are a small player even in Sweden, but they are increasing their market share every quarter. You can find their screens in almost all high-end stores in Sweden today.

Northern Star use strong aluminum profiles for their screens and they spend a lot of time getting the right panels for their screens.

If you have a media center and a screen from Northern Star you can use their remote to control your mouse pointer.

Northern Star currently have 8 different models in their portfolioa: 5 LCD screens between 26″ and 46″ (price between $1500 and $3700), and 3 Plasma screens ranging from 42″ and 63″ for between $3000 and $10500. Before christmas they wil start selling two brand new full HD screens – a 40″ and a 42″.
