O2 Cocoon – unboxing
Today we received the brand new designer phone O2 Cocoon in the mail. I have just unboxed it and of course we’re sharing the holy unboxing ceremony with you guys. Come inside for lots of unboxing photos of this cool phone.

When you just look at the box you instantly get the feeling that O2 has spent lots and lots of hours thinking through and designing all the details regarding the Cocoon and it’s packaging.

When you open up the package, you instantly see the ‘Cocoon‘ hanging down from a branch ready to hatch.

The accessories and manuals are hidden inside a box that slides out of the package from the side.

You get everything with the phone, even a dock and an earphone connector that will let give you an extra 3.5mm connection. Everything goes in white and black. Nice.

Loading up the phone with the SIM card and battery is really easy and…

…you lock the back piece with a small slider on the side of the phone.

When you turn on the phone you’ll get a short video intro (with sound). The display is really crisp.

And here’s the coolest thing with the phone. The LED display that is hidden under the shell making it a display. You’ll get a hello message when you turn it on, and when you get incoming calls or SMS they all show up on the shell. Nice!

Angle shot of the O2 Cocoon.

This is how the top of the phone looks like. The black ring is actually a control that is used to control things like the volume while playing music.

The white and black design looks quite cool if you ask me.

Side shot. Right by thumb you can see the place where you plug in the head set. You can also see the microSD card dock.

It’s a really thin phone with some nice lines.

No lens cover for the 2 megapixel camera, so you got to be careful.

When you dock the phone, you can choose to make it show the clock all the time. Neat.
The phone even has a blog: Alifewithin.com.

The Phone seems great to look…Comes with the brand tag of O2 so the performance should be good…..yet I ve heard of some glitches like :
a) Comes with a NOT a very helpful user manual
b) The ear-phones are not all that great but thats okay as you can plug in good quality earplugs (Any 3.5mm)
c) I wished the phone had come with Wi-Fi
d) I wished that the phone could play videos too…now I will have to settle down for the songs…but thats okay.
e) The Lens cover is NOT there for the 2MP camera…so treat the phone like a baby
Barring that for a regular mobile user this phone seems just amazing with FM, Photo-Call, Alarm, Organiser, Music and a Micro SD Slot….which I wud never use cos this has an amazing internal memory of 2GB
So Cheers Neha…My verdict is go for the Phone as I will very shortly
