Models Offer Embedded Memory, MP3 and WMA Playback
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (January 5, 2006) Appealing to the music lover on the go, Panasonic debuts two new digital audio players. The models have the PlaysForSure™ logo, certifying their compatibility with music downloaded from PlaysForSure certified Music Service Providers on the Internet.
The new miniature models come in two attractive designs. The SV-MP010 and SV-MP020 boast a small footprint about the size of a lipstick.

The SV-MP020 boasts 2 GB of built-in memory, while the SV-MP010 has GB of embedded memory for hundreds of minutes of MP3 music. To help simplify downloading of MP3 or WMA files from a PC, there’s the “Drag and Drop” feature, which allows users to easily download and transfer music files directly to the unit.
“These colorful digital audio players, not only look great, but boast superior sound quality and ease of use,” says Yong Lee, Product Manager for Panasonic Portable Audio.
Models SV-MP010V and SV-MPMP020 provide extensive 75-hour playback using just one AA alkaline battery.

Panasonic SV-MP010, MP020 flash audio players
A couple of years
ago, we might have found ourselves getting at least a little excited about Panasonic’s two new flash audio players, the
1GB SV-MP010 and 2GB SV-MP020. But in 2006, there’s very little to say about a lipstick-shaped (their words)…

I actually own one of these and its sound quality, ease of use, and battery life are quite impressive. And the price is excellent!

I just purchased an SV-MP020 about a month ago and I am very pleased with it overall. Yes, it is a bare-bones type of product, but that is a large part of it’s appeal for some. Personally I love the fact that it’s shaped just right to fit comfortably in the palm of the hand. The fact it uses a standard AA battery and gets absurdly long battery life from is is a huge plus as I have no interest in players that require expensive to replace proprietary built-in rechargeables that mean I need to carry around an adaptor to charge up. The screen is great, the unit is well made and I dig the fact that it has no fingerprint laden chrome surfaces or easily scratched, super glossy plastics. It’s solid and practical and comes with the Panasonic name, which I have a lot more faith in then something from a 2 year old Korean company which will have questionable customer service and support and may go out of business in 6 months. It’s a great alternative to the iPod Shuffle or even the Nano for people who want the essentials only. The only thing that could make it any better would be an integrated FM radio, but I can live without that. Highly recommended for the practical MP3 enthusiast who is more impressed with value than eye candy.

It rocks! I got my 2GB on eBay, New In Box, for $83. It holds a couple of hundred MP3 tunes at CD quality, and the AA battery lasts for weeks! The ‘drag and drop’ or simple copying of files in my PC couldn’t be easier and the unit itself can be controlled without even looking at it. What more do I need? Nothing! That’s why iPods seem like trendy waste to me. Get one of these. You’ll save big $ and you won’t be disappointed.

I love anything Panasonic and the SV-MP020 is no exception. It sounds great and I have over 300 songs on it and still room for more. It is simple and to the point without all the other stuff I didn’t need. My daughter got an iPOD shuffle with no display and half the memory for the same price. I think I got the better deal!

The sound quality is good, but the data transfer rate is a big letdown. It took me 1 hour to copy the 2 gb songs to my drive. Why does it have to read the entire file to copy it to the device ?? Just copy the file!!! Plus there is no way to see all the songs at once from a list and select the one you want, you need to go thru each and every song to play it jeez…plus there is no FM radio, cmon guys …little common sense….i am writing this review when my mp3 player is copying files at its own slow pace
….yawwwnnnn …..

Battery life is great. Sound is great. I’ve had it since Christmas of 2006 (6 months). Then “WAIT” Froze up and computer will not recognize it. Looks like I’m not the only one who has had this problem. SPEND THE MONEY AND BY AN IPOD! I have had one for 2 years and never have had a problem, the battery life is just not as long.

for those who have the “wait..”. Reset the player (p.32 of the manual). Worked for me. It formats the entire player and you lose your songs/data, but it works after that.

I got one for christmas of 2006 and use it at work and i’m usually by myself. (don’t work in an office). This is a great buy. Not sure how much was spent on it, but i’ve loaded a little over 200 songs and it still has plenty of room for more.
easy download.

easy download. Only problem i have is with the headphones. careful they don’t get caught because the outer plastic that goes inside the ear will pop off.

I bought 3 of these MP3s last X’mas. I downloaded all songs from Rhapsody. All was going well then the 3 devices displayed “protected” on the majority of the songs. I down loaded them again and same thing happend after a few weeks. I called the company, they said that panasonic and Rhapsody were not compatable. Could someone please tell me where to get music that is compatible with this device?
Thanks

I tested this camera for a client. I didn’t have the light running for more than 15 minutes. The battery lasted approximately 6 hours before recharging. The LCD, however, had a few dead pixels – never saw this before. Tried returning for exchange and had to put up quite a fight. Anyone else seen this? http://www.batteryfast.co.uk
