Philips PFL 9632 won blind test

Philips PFL 9632D

Over 1000 persons voted in a blind test arranged by the Swedish online magazine Prylportalen at a big home electronics store in Stockholm, Sweden. 6 screens participated in the test: Panasonic TH-42PZ70, Philips PFL 9632D, Sony W3000, Samsung LE40F86, LG 42LF75 and the JVC LT42DV8 and the mission for the voters was to pick out the screen with the best picture. Playing on all screens was a chapter from the latest Bond movie Casino Royale (full HD).

The winning TV from Philips (PFL 9632D) got 50.8 percent of all votes(!) and on the second place you could find LG’s 42LF75 with 22.9 percent of all votes. I’m a bit surprised that they didn’t have any screens from Pioneer or Sharp though.

The winner Philips PFL 9632D is a new 42 inch LCD with a resolution of 1920×1080, a response time of 3 milliseconds.
