Nicholas Negroponte, co-founder of MIT Media Lab, is currently in the works of producing a $100 laptop. The goal with the project is to distribute the computers to children in countries like Brazil, China, Thailand, Egypt and South Africa.

“This is the most important thing I have ever done in my life,” Negroponte said on Wednesday during a presentation at Technology Review’s Emerging Technologies Conference at MIT.
