Vista running 108 apps
There was a photo at Flickr circulating during the weekend of a MacBook Pro running 150 different applications at the same time, and now a guy has posted a video of his Vista machine running 108 applications at the same time. Looks like it’s running pretty smooth actually. Video after the jump.

First of all, it is virtually Impossible to run that many applications
on Windows, since Windows is not a multi-tasking O/S. This guy might have had 108 Windows open at one time and running each app. one at a time, as it appears on the video.
You run one application, then as you attempt to run another, the hour glass pops up and waits for the first app to finish.

You sir are so full of shit I can smell it over the internet. I guess when I’m ripping a video, browsing the net, streaming music to my external speakers, and working on editing a PDF doc that all those apps aren’t running at that same time….again full of shit Mike. Full of shit.

You are running those apps ONE at a TIME. How the hell can you do all those things at the same time, unless you’re an octopus? So, you’re listening to music while editing a doc or browsing the Net. I’ll bet that your Browser is choppy and the web pages load real slow. But, to do all those things that you mentioned at the SAME time, is unrealistic and you are the one who’s full of horse do-do!!
I just happen to know better and I have better things to do that debate the impossibilities of Windows to an infantile like yourself.

they are running at the same time…you can multi task on windows. Trying unzipping something, running flash, photoshop, firefox, winamp and word. You can do all of those things at once… Mike clearly your computer is pretty old if you don’t agree, so get yourself a quad core, you’ll soon see

Look up “Context Switching” — I believe this will educate you on your misconception that Windows cannot run multiple programs at the same time.

It’s funny to see what “mike” say in the beginning here.. Cuz i have more then one puter with windows.. and i have left the mac world a while back.. And now to the point… One of my puters run on Vista. I have been Virus scanning, downloading and my kids have been having a good time with a movie on monitor (tft)#2 ..and guess what .. i was making a webiste on screen #1. So how is that NOT multi tasking? Guess this mike dude belonge to the groupe of people who also like iphone over a good Samsung or SonyEricsson.
Have nice day folks.. And yes .. A windows based pc CAN multi-task. Maybe mike can’t.. But my PC can.
